serve

Stewardship is serving, too!

"The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world, and those who dwell therein..." - Ps. 24:1

The Lord our God created everything around us - including the heavens and the earth. He filled our world with life, which teems on land and in the sea. He then created us humans in His image and made us the crown of His creation!

On top of that, He's given us our homes, our cars, our families, and our finances. He's blessed us with talents and abilities that make us unique. He's given us the precious gift of time. But God doesn't give us these things for us to keep for ourselves.

With these blessings, God calls us to be stewards (caretakers or 'managers') of His creation. He urges us to use the things He's given us to build up His body in the world, serve our neighbors, and bring His light to the people around us.

In other words, God reminds us that everything ultimately belongs to Him. As such, we are encouraged to manage our blessings well. We do this in our homes, in our places of work, in our community, and certainly here at St. Timothy Lutheran!
